Francesca Soana was born in Parma in 2000.

She studies Composition under the guidance of Maestro Luca Tessadrelli at the “Arrigo Boito” Conservatory of Parma, where she is currently enrolled in the Bachelor's program in Composition.

In 2021, her Tre elaborazioni da Alfredo Casella for chamber orchestra were performed by the Orchestra dell’Emilia‑Romagna Arturo Toscanini as part of the “L’OERAT incontra i giovani talenti” concert series.

In 2022, the Brescia-based association Musical‑Mente commissioned her to write a piece for ensemble and to arrange several others as part of a suite dedicated to the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

In 2023, she collaborated with percussionist Gianmarco Petrucci on the “Prohibited Tapes” project, creating an arrangement for vibraphone and electronics of Concerto pour vibraphone et orchestre à cordes by Emmanuel Séjourné, in collaboration with sound designer Francesco Marai.

She has attended Composition Masterclasses with Maestro José Manuel López López, during which her piece Crocevia was performed, as well as with Maestros Gabrio Taglietti and Giacomo Fossa.

In October 2023, her orchestral piece Videte et exsultate!, a musical retelling of the Nativity of Greccio for orchestra, baritenor, and narrator, was performed by I Musici di Parma, conducted by Arturo del Bo and featuring baritenor Eugenio Maria Degiacomi and narrator Paolo Rossini, on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the Nativity celebration at Greccio in 1223.

In 2024, she coordinated the project L’INCANTO SENZA TEMPO DELLE FILASTROCCHE. Il canto educativo nella didattica etica di Rosa Agazzi, promoted by Maestro Luca Tessadrelli, for which she also set some of Rosa Agazzi’s writings to music.

In the same year, she collaborates with the Lebanese ensemble Les Cordes Résonnantes for the project Oriental goes Baroque, creating, in synergy with conductor Joe Daou, arrangements that blend Western Baroque tradition with Arabic song. The premiere takes place on July 17, 2025, at the théâtre Metro Madina in Beirut.
